Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026.

Msign is digital signage software for businesses. This policy explains what we collect across the website, the console and the TV player apps, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

The short version

We collect what we need to run your account, show your content on your screens, bill you, and help you when something breaks. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and there are no advertising or third-party analytics trackers on this website, in the console, or in the player apps.

Card numbers go from your browser straight to our payment processor and never touch our servers. The TVs report their own health — model, software version, network address, whether they are playing — and collect nothing about the people watching them: no camera, no microphone, no audience measurement.

Who we are and what this covers

Msign is operated by MTech Distributors LLC ("Msign", "we", "us"), a point-of-sale and payments company based in Brooklyn, New York. This policy covers the Msign website and console at this domain, the Msign player — the app for TVs and signage devices on platforms including Android TV and Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung (Tizen) smart TVs, LG (webOS) smart TVs, Apple devices, and Windows or Linux signage players, as well as the browser player — and the emails the service sends.

MTech Distributors’ own website has its own policy at mtechdistributors.com/privacy. What plays on a particular screen is chosen by the business that runs that screen; questions about a screen’s content belong to that business.

What we collect

What we collect depends on how you use Msign:

  • Account and team: your name, email address, password (stored only as a hash), your role in each workspace, the invitations you send, and your time zone.
  • Business details you enter: the workspace name, the locations you name, and settings such as a logo.
  • Content you upload: the images and videos you add, the web page addresses you point a screen at, and the names of your playlists and schedules.
  • TV and player information: each TV's name, device model, platform, screen resolution, app and player version, pairing status, network (IP) address, when it last checked in, and playback health reports — so you can see which screens are on, and we can help fix the ones that are not.
  • Billing records: your plan, invoices, payment attempts and their outcomes. Card details are tokenized by the payment processor; we store only the token reference, the card brand and the last four digits.
  • Website visits: our servers briefly log the network address and the page requested, to keep the site working and to limit abuse. We do not run third-party analytics.
  • When you write to us: your email address and what you send.

What we do not collect

Just as important, on every platform the player ships on:

  • No advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs or ad networks — the apps and the site show no ads.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
  • No location beyond the network address a connection naturally carries.
  • No access to cameras, microphones, contacts or files beyond the media you upload yourself.
  • Nothing about the people who watch your screens. A sign is a one-way display.

How we use it

To run Msign for you: pairing your TVs, delivering and playing your content, keeping your account secure, and supporting you. To bill you: issuing invoices and charging the card you saved, as you agreed at sign-up. To send the emails the service needs: sign-up confirmation, password resets, invitations, and billing or service notices. To prevent fraud and abuse: rate limits and security logs. And to meet legal, tax and card-network obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, we do not send marketing text messages, and we do not sell your information.

Cookies and device storage

Signing in sets session cookies that keep you signed in; they exist to authenticate you, not to advertise to you. A small browser-storage entry remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, and the console keeps preferences such as your theme in your browser. Support staff who open a workspace to help you use a separate, logged "view as" cookie. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies.

On a TV, the player caches your media on the device so the screen keeps playing when the internet drops. The cache holds your workspace's content and is cleared when the TV is unpaired or the app is removed.

Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, a Global Privacy Control signal changes nothing about how the site treats you — the practice it requests is already our baseline. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, which have no agreed standard.

Payments

When you enter a card, your browser sends it directly to our payment processor, Valor PayTech, which handles card data under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. The processor returns a token, the card brand, the last four digits and the result; we never receive or store your full card number or security code. Renewals charge the stored token. Refunds and reversals reference the processor's transaction record.

The TV player apps

The player app has one job: show a pairing code, register the TV to your workspace when you enter that code in the console, fetch your content, play it, and report its health. The information it sends is the TV and player information listed above — nothing more.

On Android-based devices the app asks only for internet access, network status (to reload the moment a network appears), permission to start when the TV powers on (so your signs come back by themselves after a power cut), and permission to keep the screen awake. Players on other platforms use the equivalent, similarly narrow capabilities.

Unpairing a TV in the console deletes its registration, and closing the workspace removes its TVs, content and team. The app shows no ads and contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

Who can see it

We share personal information only as needed to run the service:

  • People in your workspace, by role: your team sees the workspace's screens, content and members.
  • Service providers under contract, on our instructions: Vercel (website and application hosting), Supabase (database, sign-in, email delivery for account messages, and file storage), and Valor PayTech (payment processing). They receive what the job requires — for example, the hosting provider sees network addresses, the processor sees payments.
  • Mtech support staff, when operating the service or helping you; staff actions on customer workspaces are logged.
  • Authorities and courts, when a law, subpoena, court order or card-network rule requires it, or to protect rights, safety or security.
  • A buyer or successor, if MTech Distributors is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — with notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
  • Anyone you ask us to share with.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. Closing a workspace deletes its TVs, content and team; its invoices and billing history are kept for the record. Invoices, payment attempts and related billing records are kept up to seven years where tax rules, card-network rules or disputes require it. Security and server logs are kept briefly — usually no more than twelve months. Backups age out on their own schedule shortly after deletion.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every customer table is protected by row-level security, so an account can only ever reach its own workspace's data. Passwords are stored hashed, card numbers never reach us, staff access is limited and logged. No system is completely secure — use a strong, unique password, and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires, including under the New York SHIELD Act.

Your choices and rights

You can update your details and your workspace in the console’s settings, and close a workspace there at any time. To delete your sign-in account entirely, or to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted, write to support@mtechdistributors.com. We will verify your identity, respond within 45 days, and may extend once by 45 days if we tell you why. An authorized agent may act for you with proof of authority. We will never treat you differently for exercising a right. We may keep what a legal obligation requires us to keep, such as invoices.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island have these rights under their state privacy laws, along with the right to appeal: reply to our response and say you are appealing, a different person will review it within 45 days, and we will point you to your state attorney general if you are still not satisfied.

California residents: in the last 12 months we collected the categories described under "What we collect", from you and your devices, for the purposes under "How we use it", and disclosed them only to the recipients under "Who can see it" for business purposes. We have not sold personal information, have not shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have no knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16. Under the "Shine the Light" law, the list of third parties receiving personal information for their direct marketing is: none. Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information.

Children

Msign is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we will delete it if we learn we have. Screens running Msign may of course be watched by anyone, including children — the screens collect nothing from viewers.

Where your information is processed

MTech Distributors is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States on the providers listed above. If you use Msign from elsewhere, your information is transferred here, where privacy laws may differ from your own.

Other sites, and changes to this policy

Web pages you point a screen at, and sites we link to, have their own privacy practices that we do not control. Your use of Msign is also governed by the Terms of Service.

When our practices, tools or the law change, we will post the new version here with a new date, and give extra notice of material changes where the law requires it. The previous version is available on request.
